Scopease · Legal
Terms of Service
Last updated · 13 September 2026
Who we are. Scopease is an independent software service operated by an individual proprietor based in India (“Scopease”, “we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms form a binding agreement between you and us when you use the service.
1. What Scopease does
Scopease helps freelancers and studios lock project scope, turn extra requests into change orders, collect client approvals over private links, and build invoices from approved history. The service is provided as-is as a productivity tool — we do not provide legal, accounting, or professional advice, and approvals recorded in Scopease are records of your clients' decisions, not legal opinions.
2. Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
3. Your content and your clients' data
- You retain ownership of everything you put into Scopease — scopes, change orders, client names, and messages (“Your Content”).
- You warrant that you have the right to store and process any personal data of your clients (such as names and contact details) that you enter, and that you have informed them where required by law.
- You grant us only the limited right to host, display, and process Your Content to operate the service (for example, rendering a private approval link you choose to share).
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service — including attempting to access other users' data, interfering with the service's operation, uploading unlawful content, or using Scopease in a way that violates applicable law. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do so.
5. Plans, billing, and cancellation
- Free plan: one active project, as described on our pricing page.
- Pro plan: billed monthly in advance through our payment partner Razorpay. Prices are shown at checkout exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- You may cancel at any time — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro access until then.
- Refunds: all charges are non-refundable except where required by law. See our Refunds & Cancellation Policy.
6. Availability and changes
We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update, limit, or discontinue features as the product evolves, and we may update these Terms — material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above, and continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
7. Intellectual property
Scopease, its design, and its code are our property and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of our rights to you. You may not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer the service except as permitted by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scopease is provided without warranties of any kind, and our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose — or, if you use only the free plan, to ₹1,000. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits, lost client relationships, or the outcome of any client dispute. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will first be attempted to be resolved by good-faith discussion over email; if unresolved, they are subject to the courts having jurisdiction at our principal place of business in India. If you are a consumer, nothing here removes protections you have under the consumer-protection laws of your place of residence.
