Who handles your data. Scopease is operated by an individual proprietor based in India. For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), we act as the Data Fiduciary for personal data you give us directly. Where you enter your own clients' details into scopes and change orders, you decide that data and we process it only on your instructions.
Contact for anything privacy-related: support@scopease.com
1. Data we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, and login credentials when you sign up or contact us.
- Content you create: project scopes, change orders, approvals, and any client details (such as client names) you choose to enter. We process this only to run the service for you.
- Billing data: payments are processed by our payment partner Razorpay. We receive confirmation of payment and subscription status — we never see or store your full card or bank details.
- Technical data: basic device, browser, and log information needed for security, debugging, and preventing abuse.
2. Why we use it (purpose limitation)
We use personal data only for specific, lawful purposes: creating and managing your account, operating features you request (scopes, approval links, history, invoicing), processing subscriptions, providing support, keeping the service secure, and meeting legal obligations. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your separate consent.
3. Consent and how to withdraw it
By creating an account or using features that need your data, you consent to the uses described here — consent requested in plain language, as the DPDP Act requires. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing support@scopease.com or deleting your account; withdrawal takes effect going forward, and we will stop processing your data except where the law requires us to retain it (for example, invoices for tax records).
4. Who we share data with
- Razorpay (payment processing) — receives only what is needed to charge your subscription.
- Hosting infrastructure located in India — stores your account and project data.
- Google Fonts — our pages load fonts from Google's servers, which receive a basic technical request (such as your IP address) when pages load.
- We disclose data to authorities only when required by law.
We do not transfer personal data outside India except where a processor necessarily operates globally (as with font delivery above); where that happens, data is handled under that provider's safeguards.
5. How long we keep data
We keep account and project data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except records we must retain by law (such as billing invoices). Backups roll off on their normal cycle.
6. Your rights
- Access and correction: ask us what data we hold about you and have inaccuracies fixed.
- Erasure: ask us to delete your personal data, subject to legal retention duties.
- Grievance redressal: raise any complaint about our data practices to support@scopease.com — we aim to respond within 7 business days.
- Under the DPDP Act you also have recourse to the Data Protection Board of India if a grievance is unresolved.
- If you are in the EU/UK or another region with data-protection laws (such as the GDPR), you may also exercise the equivalent rights available to you there, including lodging a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
7. Children's data
Scopease is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data of children, and we will delete it if we learn it was provided.
8. Security
We protect data with reasonable safeguards — encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on infrastructure, and least-privilege handling of support requests. No system is perfectly secure, so if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will notify you and take required steps under applicable law.
9. Cookies and similar tech
We use only what's needed for the site to work: strictly-necessary storage such as login sessions and security tokens. We do not run advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. If we add analytics or optional cookies later, this policy will be updated and consent requested first.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product or the law changes. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will also notify you by email or in-product notice before they take effect.
